This project comprised of the transformation of a warehouse into a Royal Mail Distribution Centre.

Charles Andrews was appointed to design of the M&E services within the buildings and for the fit out of the kitchen and dining areas.

This project comprised the construction of a new Central Control Room CCR to replace a number of nodal control rooms in hazardous locations throughout the site. The blast resistant building was located in a semi safe area of the site.

In addition to our duties of undertaking the design of the M&E services within the building we also liaised with the site team for the alterations and diversions of site HV and LV electrical systems, steam, water, C&I systems, mains water, site hydrant systems. .

This project comprised the M&E design and project management to the
Ventilation and cooling systems to reduce product wastage at Fox’s Biscuits in Kirkham.

This project consists of the removal of an existing oven in a large bakery.  Dismantling and relocation of another oven to its new location with testing, commissioning and bakery trials.

This project consists of the conceptual design fro Gas Booster/Treatment Stations. Charles Andrews were contracted to act as Dresser-Rand’s consultant, advising them regarding the upgrade requirements and re-introduction of these flow stations, by producing conceptual design philosophy documents from which the detailed design and construction will be based.  Charles Andrews produced conceptual design philosophy documents for the following packages:

This project comprised the development of a new corporate stand at The Hawthornes and was completed in early 2000’s. Charles Andrews was involved throughout the whole design and construction period and provided full M&E Consultancy duties throughout the project.

The Contract was let on a design and build basis with Charles Andrews undertaking regular site inspections throughout the project.

This project comprises the development of a new 10,000 capacity stadium developed to replace the old Saltergate stadium which has been the home of the club for many years. The new stadium is located on the old Dema Glass site and is part of the local development plan for the region. The site wide development undertaken by Wilson Bowden Developments includes a new Tesco store, space for an office / leisure / retail development and the stadium. The stadium development has been undertaken by our client GB Development Solutions who introduced GB Building Solutions to carry out the construction. The procurement route was a JCT Design and Build Contract and CAL was novated to the Contractor to complete the design development process post tender.

This project comprises the completion of the partly constructed East Stand to enhance the facility and make it sustainable for ongoing use by the Halifax Town FC and Halifax RLFC.
The East Stand construction commenced in the early 1990’s and the structural steel frame was constructed. Due to various commercial problems the building was not completed and was left partly used and exposed the elements until Calderdale Council took control of the stadium in 2007 and put in place a plan to complete the stand. .
One of the major challenges of this project was the need to utilise as much as possible of the existing steel frame.

This project comprised the construction of the new North stand comprising Concourse areas, Executive Lounges, Business club, Leisure Club Facilities and Terraces areas and the North West and North East corner infill terrace areas. CAL provided full M&E Consultancy services throughout.

This project involved the design of the mechanical services for the proposed conversion from office space to a new Champagne Bar, Kitchen and Boardroom. 

Charles Andrews were commissioned to design the ventilation and associated systems i.e. LPHW heating and chilled water to serve the coils together with controls modifications. In addition, hot and cold water with the above ground drainage to the kitchen and bar area.
